Here's a covert picture I took of the Winter's "ice cream truck" - a cowboy who walks around town each day pushing his cart of ice creamed goods and ringing a hand bell. Ack, this small town charm is too much for me!
You may have noticed I haven't been blogging very much yet about my cooking adventures. I've been busy trying to stock the kitchen with things that are missing, such as tongs, a cookie sheet, a bread knife, that sort of thing. Monday I made a basic pasta with meat sauce. Then last night I tried a recipe from Real Simple magazine: I baked sliced beets and oranges until caramelized, then tossed with arugula, and served with pork chops that I cooked on the skillet seasoned with oregano and thyme. Pretty tasty!
