Going Tapas

After a month of living out of our suitcases in a small hotel room, Todd and I have found a place to rent! We found a guesthouse in Winters, the small cowboy town mentioned in an earlier blog, and are so excited! (Kudos to Craigslist.) We celebrated by going to a local tapas restaurant called Ficelle just down the street, which features delicious small plates like the one shown here, along with a lengthy wine list and tasty homemade sangria.  Definitely a place we'll be bringing visitors.

Some things I'm looking forward to: not having to pack a small bag of clothes each week, selecting which small liquids will be allowed on the plane, deciding where to lock up the laptop in our hotel room every time we leave, killing time between checking out of the hotel and picking up Todd from work, and planning where to get each meal every day.  Some things I'll miss: sitting by the hotel pool, free Starbucks coffee, and the free Wall Street Journal (a.k.a. my morning routine). But I am eager to start my experiments in cooking and blog about them... so stay tuned!
